Pestoni Family Estate Winery
Established in 1993, Pestoni Family Estate Winery is a small, family owned winery located in the historic Rutherford appellation of the Napa Valley. The winery is owned and operated by the Pestoni family whose Swiss-Italian roots span five generations in the Napa Valley, and 2017 marks the 125th anniversary of the family's winemaking history.
PESTONI FAMILY HOWELL MOUNTAIN ESTATE CABERNET SAUVIGNON
Their 2016 Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon showcases aromas of ripe blackberries, cedar, cigar, and fresh vanilla bean. The plush velvet entry and mid pallet are entwined with condensed notes of juicy blackberry liquor, brambles, carpaccio and a classic mountain fruit finish with youthful peppery tannins. Drink now through the next 12 – 15 years.
PESTONI FAMILY DOMINGOS BROTHERS RED
Their 2013 Domingos Brothers Red is a Bordeaux style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes crafted from select blocks of their Three Tears Vineyard on the Eastern slope of Howell Mountain. With elevation that ranges from 1,600 to 2,400 feet above sea level, the well-drained red volcanic soils of this vineyard produce a wine an inky ruby in color, with intoxicating ripe blackberry on the nose.The finish is elegantly complex and refined, and will flourish with 10 to 12 years of careful cellaring.
PESTONI FAMILY HOWELL MOUNTAIN ESTATE MERLOT
Their Rutherford Merlot displays impressions of sweet cedar, nutmeg, and cranberry on the nose. On the palate, effusive pomegranate, black cherries steeped in cinnamon, and dried sage tie into its velvety finish and classic dusty tannins. Pair this elegant Merlot with blackened fish, roasted wild pheasant with sautéed mushrooms or seared duck breast in a cherry rosemary sauce.
